Destination Action Plans

Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism has commenced development of destination plans with an initial focus on nine key destinations.

A leadership group within each destinations was formed and the group participated in a series of workshops to identify and build agreement on affordable and achievable priorities they would make an difference to the destination if actioned within the next three years.

The Destination Action Plans will facilitate a customized yet collaborative approach to marketing, management and development. They identify projects and priorities that could be pursued at a regional level as well as activities that driven by the destination will build the destinations competitiveness.

The 9 initial destinations include:

Apollo Bay
12 Apostles Coast and Hinterland
Port Fairy

These Destination Action Plans will inform the Great Ocean Road Strategic Tourism Master Plan.

Great Ocean Road Action Plan

In October 2018, the Victorian Government unveiled a landmark action plan to protect the iconic Great Ocean Road coast and parks for generations to come.

Great Ocean Road Centenary

GORRT is working on a project to commemorate 100 years since the Great Ocean Road was built as a tribute to fallen soldiers, by their comrades.

Digital Project

GORRT has developed a new digital platform to provide a more agile and dynamic digital marketing asset for the Great Ocean Road region. The platform has provided for 9  websites to date.

Brand Strategy

Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism in partnership with Ispy Brand Strategy and industry from across the region have developed a new brand framework to showcase our destinations and experiences.

The framework provides each destination with a unique positioning. To bring to life creatively the destination brand positioning we worked with Cyclone a creative studio to build a manifesto and subsequently a brand film for each of these destinations.

Operators are encouraged to work with their Local Tourism and Trader organisation and GORRT to incorporate their destination’s brand and help us collaborate in the amplification of our messaging. To assist we have developed a brand licence and a toolkit to make using the brand tools easy which is available for operators to purchase from only $100 per annum.
